Six intensive days with Riccardo.
In week three, both classes join Riccardo Basco for six full training days: three days, a rest day, then three more. This mandatory block focuses on scissor work, shape and technique.

Put it into practice on real clients.
Scissor cuts, clipper work, fades and beard grooming. Build a portfolio and prepare for your final assessment.

When does the next course start?
The Wednesday group starting 20 January 2027 is full. Applications are open for the Monday group starting 18 January 2027. The course runs for 12 weeks, with regular Monday evening classes from 7–10pm. We’ll talk through the evening timetable on your call. The six-day intensive is on 31 January, 1–2 February and 4–6 February 2027, with Wednesday 3 February off. You must be able to attend all six training days.
Do I need any experience?
No. The course is designed for beginners, including people changing careers and people leaving education. You need to attend, practise between sessions and be willing to take feedback.
Can I train around my current job?
Regular evening classes run from 7–10pm. We’ll talk through the evening timetable on your call. You also need to make time for all six full intensive days: 31 January, 1–2 February and 4–6 February 2027, with Wednesday 3 February off. Plan for around 8–9 hours on site each intensive day, including meal breaks. Check the dates against work, travel and other commitments before you enrol.
What if I need to miss a session?
Missing a regular evening session does not automatically rule you out of the course, but it makes you ineligible for the train-for-free guarantee for additional training after the course. All six intensive days with Riccardo in week three are mandatory. Tell Eachan about any regular-session clashes on your call; we will explain the guarantee conditions before you enrol.
Where does the training take place?
Core evening sessions take place at Brazen Men’s Hair, 88 Brunswick Street, Edinburgh. The combined intensive block uses a separate venue. We will confirm the venue before you enrol.
How do the payments work?
The full course is £4,970, including your professional kit. A £500 deposit secures your place after we have agreed that the course is right for you. You can pay in full or discuss a payment plan. We’ll explain the payment options and conditions before you pay your deposit. If you choose instalments, we’ll confirm each amount and due date in writing after your payment-plan call, in line with your agreement. No payment is taken with this application.
What do I receive when I finish?
You receive a Brazen Academy certificate after completing the course and being signed off by your tutors, plus a portfolio of your work. This is practical barber training, not an NVQ or SVQ. Employment is not guaranteed.
What happens on the call?
You speak with Eachan, the academy founder, for around 30 minutes. You will talk about your situation, goals, course dates and payment options. It is a chance to ask questions and decide whether the course makes sense for you. There is no obligation to enrol.
